You sit there in shadow
watching my movements
I turn the pages slowly
and I can't see the words
My mind is reeling
still from your words
My heart is breaking
and turning to burn

Why are you still here?
How can you still care?
The feeling inside you
Is already dead
Why are you healthy
when I'm so profane
Why aren't you going?
I'm going insane

You say you've got a lot invested
I feel you've wasted my time
You say you are still searching
Well then help me find my mind
I'm lost out there somewhere
I'm floating in space
All the time I lost on you
Will I ever reclaim?

It's not enough to love you
That's a loaded gun aimed at my head
It's not enough to want you
between the sheets of my bed
Your naked body tempts me
And lures me away
From paying attention
To the white hot heat of the day

Am I so wrong to love the good you are?
Do I deserve to hold your tender heart?
Do the drums of your song coincide with mine?
Do they echo through the days when we're apart?

You know... it's something I don't have words for
Why aren't you through that door?
When all the pain and anger lift away
Love lingers when the last tear is shed
The words never spoken are louder than those said.
