It's Your Call

I breathe your breath
the sweetest thing
you are
On a sunny Saturday
Your Mom got married
She honeymooned in June,
and in February, too
You gotta step on the gas
to make the heart go
How we got here
I don't even know
Is this a rest stop
Or some hotel in my mind
If life is a journey
the state cops ain't that kind
The planets are aligned
and everything is nice
But it's getting hotter
and the poles are leaking ice
There's no need for panic
No need to sound alarms
Trust our politicians
to cluck their grave concern
Our leaders, as cheerleaders,
fool us with their charms
And is this the end
I can't even say why
Is it, or it just is
It's for you to decide
I could have held back
Yeah, I could have lied
I got caught in a sigh
and then I just cried
Yeah, a piece of me died.
I stand before your door,
But you just climb the stair...
